Learn how to align and relax your body using gentle movements to gain your greatest body awareness, mobility, balance, strength, flexibility, and health. 3:00-4:00 pm -  Beginner: Learn and practice the first 17 moves. No experience needed, but must attend either January 12 or 19 class to be enrolled. Otherwise, the next Beginner class starts in September. 4:00-5:30 pm -  Intermediate and Advanced: Learn and practice the full tai chi set. Completion of Beginner class (or permission from the instructor) is required. $5.00 Donation per person each Friday attended. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes without a lot of traction. Raleigh Beginning Classes Start Jan. 10 and Jan. 11, 2024

Learn the foundations of Tai Chi Begin your journey to physical and spiritual health by learning a gentle form of Tai Chi that provides body awareness, pain relief, stillness, and much more. Body, mind and spirit come together while practicing the ancient art of Tai Chi that is optimized for health and well-being. In this class you will learn the foundations of Tai Chi and put them into action in a Short (17 move) Tai Chi form.  Come join us and see why Tai Chi is known as meditation in motion!​ Class will be held Thursday mornings 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. starting January 11, 2024 (18 class series) Class will be held Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. starting January 10, 2024 (18 class series) Note: Masks are required for this class to protect our vulnerable participants, and social distancing will be encouraged. Carolyn will guide you through the first several moves and foundational exercises that are meditative while also bringing countless physical benefits. This workshop is also a preview of classes we will be teaching weekly, starting in September. Come join us and see why Tai Chi is known as meditation in motion!  Workshop will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring water.  Masks are required for this workshop to protect our vulnerable participants, and we will encourage social distancing.  You can register for workshops and classes on the Unity Holistic Wellness Center website.
